SPRING LITERACY CENTER ACTIVITIES FOR KINDERGARTEN

We just began our
last round of literacy work stations:

SIGHT WORD BOOK

Lots of Kindergarten literacy centers {many are freebies!} in this blog post.
Our latest book, Color Bugs, goes with June's bug/insect theme. No new sight words are being introduced, but this booklet provides a great review of the color words.

They had to make sure their books made sense- the bug's color must match the color word in the sentence!

WORD DETECTIVES

This is a different kind of word search!
Lots of Kindergarten literacy centers {many are freebies!} in this blog post.
Students use magnifying glasses to search for the tiny sight words that are hidden in the picture.
When they find a word, they fill in their Word Detective sheet.

Using a clipboard and worksheet, students hunt all over the room for the bugs, then add them to their list.

Not a personal favorite of mine {the spider makes lunch out of everyone she meets- gross!}
