SIGHT WORD BOOK
Our latest book, Color Bugs, goes with June's bug/insect theme. No new sight words are being introduced, but this booklet provides a great review of the color words.
They had to make sure their books made sense- the bug's color must match the color word in the sentence!
WORD DETECTIVES
This is a different kind of word search!
Students use magnifying glasses to search for the tiny sight words that are hidden in the picture.
When they find a word, they fill in their Word Detective sheet.
When the page is full= CASE CLOSED
So fun!
We are using a sight word page from Little Literacy Learners.
You can find the sight word page here @ Little Literacy Learners.
LETTER CLIPS
Students are using clothespin letters to make the bug words.
UPDATE: The bug clip cards have been redone, and are a FREE download
WRITE THE ROOM
I posted pictures of various bugs around the classroom.
Using a clipboard and worksheet, students hunt all over the room for the bugs, then add them to their list.
LISTENING CENTER
Students are listening to The Roly-Poly Spider, then filling in a response sheet.
Not a personal favorite of mine {the spider makes lunch out of everyone she meets- gross!}
Thanks so much for the great freebies! So sweet.
