We have begun a book study of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
We are having so much fun with this story, and it's used to reinforce the letters of the alphabet.
I made a math game to go along with the story called
Where's That Crazy Coconut?
I placed number cards in random order in a pocket chart. Then I hid the 'crazy coconut' behind one of the numbers.
Here's how to play: Students take turns coming up to the chart. They point to a number they think they know, and tell the class what it is. If they name the number correctly, they get to take the number off of the chart.
And of course, with bated breath, we all see if the CRAZY COCONUT is behind the number that was chosen.
The 'winner' is the person who finds that crazy coconut behind their number.
I made the activity to practice number recognition from 1-25.

we love interactive games in my pre-k class. We are working with numbers up to 15 right now and this will be perfect!
