THE SNOW GLOBE FAMILY BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
My Kindergarten class loved this story about the family who lived in the big house and the tiny family who lived in the snow globe! They loved to see how the actions of the big family affected the lives of the tiny family :)
This unit for The Snow Globe Family is packed with literacy activities that will help your students work on story elements, character traits, story retell, writing activities, problem & solution, making text to self connections, making mental images, offering opinions, recognizing cause & effect, reading comprehension, and more.
This book study unit can be used as a whole class activity, during small group guided reading time, as individual student work, or as part of a book club. Copy a pack for each student and you're ready to go!
This book companion unit will save you tons of time, is no prep, and is great to leave for a sub!
This guided reading unit includes lots of activities, so you can differentiate to suit your students' learning abilities and needs.
THE SNOW GLOBE FAMILY CLASS BOOK
The pack includes a class book, too! It is great to add this to your classroom library, and will soon be a student favorite!
THE SNOW GLOBE FAMILY CRAFT
These snow globe crafts make a fun winter bulletin board display! Students complete the craftivity by writing what they would do if they lived inside of a snow globe.
*note that these samples are from 2013, and the activity pack has a more updated looking craft :)
If I lived in a snow globe...I would catch some snowflakes.
If I lived in a snow globe...I would jump in the snow with my friends.
If I lived in a snow globe...I would make a snowman.
I'm not familiar with that book. Heading to Amazon next! Super cute activity!

The Brown Bag Teacher
My kindergartners did this activity today and they loved it! I stopped reading at the halfway point; we took a break for snack and began the response page for beginning, middle, end. They couldn't wait to get back to the rug, to finish the book!
ReplyDeleteBless their hearts, they wanted to know if the cat knocks over the globe in the sequel. I was delighted to tell them that, although the author didn't write a sequel, she did go on to create Fancy Nancy! Big eyes and Ahhhs! all around :-)
