Each student received a heart-shaped container that held 15 conversation hearts of various colors:
Here are some of the math activities we did with them:
SORTING BY COLOR
Students began by coloring the color words.
Then they started sorting
After the candy hearts had been sorted, they printed the number showing the amount that they had of each color.
GRAPHING
Again they started by coloring the color words,
then they arranged their conversation hearts onto the graphs
and colored in the graph to show what they had.
ROLL & COVER
Playing with a partner, they took turns rolling a die and covering the number they rolled.
First player to cover their whole page wins!
10 FRAMES
Students used their heart candies to show how many letters were in the message on the picture of the conversation heart.

Oh the fun we can have with a little container full of candy hearts!
