We brainstormed ways that we can take good care of the world:
My students came up with some great answers!
We read The EARTH Book by Todd Parr.
We read some information charts
and reviewed Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We did some activity sheets
and worked together on a report
and a sweet craftivity
And, combining fabulous Earth Day craftivity ideas I found on Pinterest {created by Cara Carroll and Mrs. Cupcake} we made these:
I can take care of God's world by: growing plants.
I can take care of God's world by: taking care of the animals.
I can take care of God's world by: putting the trash away.
I can take care of God's world by: taking out the weeds.
The picture below was done by me, to use as an example.
I can take care of God's world by: recycling my containers.
{And by containers, I am referring to my Diet Pepsi bottles and cans!!!}
Awe, taking care of the animals...what a sweetie! We read The Earth Book today too!

A Cupcake for the Teacher
Thank you so much for providing this lesson idea! As a teacher candidate, I love learning about your creative and innovative teaching methods! I know this post is from a little while ago, but may I ask how the students responded to this activity?
