We started the lesson with a few books about planting seeds and seed growth:
Then did some review about what plants need to grow as well as the parts of a plant, using an anchor chart:
I had made up some labels with their names
and had them choose what seed they'd like to plant. They had to copy the name of the plant on the back of their popsicle stick,
copying the word from a card that showed their options
Then it wast time to get our hands dirty {and the classroom too!}
our plants, in the sunlight
They filled in the first page in their plant booklet, which reviewed the steps they had gone through in planting their seeds:
Subsequent booklet pages will show data regarding their plant's growth.
This is a wonderful plant unit! How fun!
