BROWN BEAR BROWN BEAR WHAT DO YOU SEE?

This week in Kindergarten we continued our 5 Senses theme and connected learning about our sense of sight using the book Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See? This is a great read aloud for practicing sight words and learning color words, too!

TEDDY BEAR DAY

We celebrated 'Teddy Bear Day' to kick off our learning.

Using our teddy bears, we learned about size seriation:

BROWN BEAR BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS

We read the book Brown Bear and did TONS of literacy activities to go along with it!

 We sorted what characters are in the story vs. not in the story, practiced reading and spelling color words as well as focus on the sight words see, I, and a with a Brown Bear take-home reader.

We did a Write the Room activity, where color words were hidden around the room to find and copy

matching the color word to the character's picture.

Students practiced sequencing the characters in the story's order

traced the color words and coloring the pictures

and labeling the story's characters.

BROWN BEAR CLASS BOOK

We made a class book in the style of Brown Bear, writing about the things that we see!

BROWN BEAR CRAFT

This Brown Bear craft was a fun wrap up to the story, and made a cute bulletin board display.
