This art lesson helped brighten up our classroom!
We talked to the students about warm and cool colors.
Students drew a circle in the middle of their round paper, then drew some flower petals that stretched to the edge of the page. Some made their petals pointed, some were rounded, and some made theirs heart-shaped.
They did the same on a larger round page, then cut the flower shapes out.
A coffee filter was painted for the flower's center.
Students were to paint one of their flower pages using only warm colors, and the other flower page using only cool colors.
Then the smaller flower was added to the larger flower, and the coffee filter was added to the middle.
They used construction paper to make the stems and leaves.
Spring splendor!
