My students cannot get enough of the Daily 5!
Here are some highlights from rotations 7-9, since I have totally been slacking on blogging about them :)
Here students are writing their spelling words three ways...with a pen, with markers, and with crayons.
Here students are pulling spelling word sticks from a can and are making 'stick frames'. Then they copy the words and make a picture inside the frame. The activity is from Reagan's pack {

Here students are writing their words and making a flip book with them. It is from an activity book by CTP {

READ TO SELF
How cozy is this?
I love that even my boys are becoming avid readers!
Right now we have been reading the free online books from Storyline Online...
but SOON they will be reading online books with an iPad and QR codes!!!
Students LOVE writing sticker stories! They place some stickers on their paper, then write a story about them!
Students have complete control over what they want to write in the writing area. That's what makes it a favorite activity.
READ WITH A PARTNER
Students are reading fluency phrases to each other, using microphones.
Their partner has to make sure they do a good job :)
This looks WONDERFUL! I didn't do Daily 5 last year because my district makes us adhere to a certain rotation. But when I get back to Kindergarten(I'm in Pre-K currently), I'm going to try the Daily 5. I'm sure that I can get away with it. ;-) Btw, how do you like 2nd grade? I taught 2nd one year and I LOVED IT!!!
