We have been having so much fun in Grade 2 as we learn about the genre Fairy Tales! This genre also allowed my second grade students to compare texts, as there are SO many versions of every fairy tale we studied.
Here are some of the Fairy Tales and story elements we've covered:
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
We worked on story maps for each Fairy Tale
...and talked about character traits for the main characters.
I made 'Let's Compare' pages for each story, so students could make text-to-self connections.
'
Would You Rather' pages are perfect for opinion writing.
Can I just say how much I LOVE Grade 2?
Seriously, they give the best answers.
I *puffy heart* love it!!!!!
"I would rather have the basket of goodies because I don't chop."
Reading comprehension activities ensure students are digging deep into the story!
Our Little Red Riding Hood craft looks like this:
It's a combo of a WONDERFUL freebie pack from Michelle {here} mixed with my own story map flaps!
JACK AND THE BEANSTALK
This story map includes the setting, characters, problem, and solution.
