This is my first year doing the Daily 5. I am so happy with how it is going, and with all of the great learning that is happening! My students are so independent, and are taking responsibility for their learning.

WORD WORK
Daily 5 activities for first grade and second grade
 Our spelling list included digraphs, so this activity from Tara worked perfectly! Students used the picture clues to complete the words on whiteboards. Great practice!

READ WITH A PARTNER

My students can't get enough of Roll, Read, and Highlight (from Cara). A fun way to practice fluency phrases with a partner!

WORK ON WRITING

Many students are getting more confident in their writing, and are making books!

SELF SELECTED READING

Nothing makes me happier than to see this happening in the classroom!!!

LISTEN TO READING
Daily 5 activities for first grade and second grade
After scanning the story's QR code and listening to the story, students fill in a little story map to show their learning.
