In a recent spelling list, students had to learn about contractions. They can be really tricky!
I put the word list on our Focus Board:
and sent home a list for extra practice
I hung a reminder chart on the Focus Board too, for those that needed to reference it :)
We did LOTS of contraction-themed activities, in Camp Contraction!

During your stay you will learn about contractions and apostrophes in these 8 ways...
-Contractions matching activity (match the contractions to the two words that make it up)
-Contractions write the room hunt (look in books, posters, etc.)
-Cut & paste the contractions {put the contraction in the correct sentence}
-Contractions poster/anchor chart
-Add the apostrophe to the words
-Find and highlight the contractions in the text & write the two words that make up each contraction
-Grab a contraction card & use it in a sentence & illustrate the sentence
-Scoot or Write the Room activity
