How to Catch the Easter Bunny by Adam Wallace is a FANTASTIC book to share with your students around Easter!
It's by the same author as How to Catch a Leprechaun! Your Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students will love this fun Easter read aloud.
HOW TO CATCH THE EASTER BUNNY BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
I love how this book sparks creativity and plan-making while being FUN :)
I've made a book companion pack with lots of supplemental activities to go along with this class favorite. It's packed with fun ideas and guided reading literacy activities, and is Common Core aligned.
These book companion activities can be used as a whole class activity, during small group guided reading time, as individual student work, or as part of a book club.
HOW TO CATCH THE EASTER BUNNY CRAFT
This Easter Bunny craft has students sharing their Easter Bunny-catching plans! This writing craft is perfect as an Easter bulletin board display, to showcase student learning.
With these activities, students will use How to Catch the Easter Bunny as they participate in tons of literacy activities, including learning story elements, doing vocabulary activities, making text-to-self connections, and sharing their opinions.
Students will also do writing activities, show story comprehension, and get creative as they design Easter eggs and Easter Bunny traps!
I have always found that students respond to Guided Reading instruction in a more positive way when doing a book study vs using a basal reader. What I also have found is that after doing a book study, students will seek out other books by that author. It makes me so happy when students are inspired to read even more!
Since this book is part of a series, I have included a page where students can share which one is their favorite :)
Students in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade will meet learning standards aligned with the Common Core, TEKS, and VA SOL. Learning standards checklists for K-2 are included in this pack, so you can see what standards are being met within the unit.
