Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes is a great book to read at the beginning of the school year. It's about Lilly, who is bringing her new purple plastic purse to school for Sharing Time. But it becomes a distraction during class, and gets confiscated by her teacher! This is a good story about listening to and obeying your teacher, and using self regulation strategies in class.
