ALPHABET BOOKS
One of my students' favorite activities to do during the day was the Writing Center. I always made sure to have some sort of printing practice included, so students could work on their fine motor skills and letter formation.
This Alphabet Book combines letter printing skills and phonics/letter sound skills in one fun activity pack.
It's perfect to use as an introduction to the Letter of the Day or Letter of the Week. It can also be done as an alphabet review!
Students trace the uppercase and lowercase letters at the top of the page, then copy the words from a word chart or word strips. They color, cut, and paste the corresponding pictures to complete the page.
There are SO MANY skills being practiced as students work on the Alphabet Books! Letter printing, letter sounds, copying words, matching pictures to words, coloring, cutting, pasting...lots of fine motor practice is happening as they learn more about letters and letter sounds!
I have included both word strips AND word chart options, so you can decide what works best for your own classroom.
Each letter has 2 pages, so there are 8 words to work on for every letter of the alphabet. The exception is letter X, which has 4.
I used mine as part of a Writing Center, but these books would also be great for alphabet learning, letter review, as part of the Daily 5, as a phonics activity, and so on!
