TACKY THE PENGUIN
Tacky the Penguin is NOT your average penguin, which is exactly why we love him so much! This fun, winter story is great for highlighting character traits, the importance of being who you are, and being a good friend. It's a great read aloud for Kindergarten and First Grade!
TACKY THE PENGUIN BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
In this book by Helen Lester, we have Tacky the Penguin who is a unique individual. He does many strange and annoying things! So annoying, in fact, that the other penguins don't really like him very much. Tacky the Penguin gets on their nerves!
The other penguins have names like Lovely, Goodly, Angel, Neatly, and Perfect. These names describe the penguins well, and highlight how different they are from Tacky.
One day some hunters arrived, to try and capture some penguins! The penguins were afraid. And suddenly Tacky's odd behavior is a GOOD thing, and he saves the day!
