KNUFFLE BUNNY
Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems is a fun cautionary tale about a little girl named Trixie, who loses her beloved Knuffle Bunny while out on an errand with her dad. Students in Kindergarten and First Grade will love this cute read aloud, and these companion activities will provide literacy learning and reading practice to go along with it!
KNUFFLE BUNNY BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
In the book Knuffle Bunny, Trixie and her father walk from their home, down the block, through the park, past the school, to the laundromat. Trixie helps her dad put the laundry into the machine and add coins to the slot. Then they leave.
After walking a block or so, Trixie realizes that she does not have her Knuffle Bunny with her. She tries to tell her father, but she only speaks baby-talk and he doesn't know what she is trying to say.
When they get home, Trixie's mother notices that Trixie does not have her Knuffle Bunny. The whole family retraces their path back to the laundromat.
After a mad search in the laundromat, Trixie's father finds her Knuffle Bunny. Can you guess what Trixie's first words are?
This Knuffle Bunny unit includes activities that help students with story elements, making text to self connections, story retell, making inferences, vocabulary, writing, main idea, problem & solution, author's purpose, story sequencing, reading comprehension, and much more!
