FLAT STANLEY TRAVEL BOOK PROJECT
I read Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown with my second grade class as part of our Guided Reading lessons. They LOVE Flat Stanley, and how Stanley can do many things because he's flat! One thing he does in the story is travel via the mail. It's fun to imagine the places he can go, how he can get there, and what he does once he's there!
This Flat Stanley Travel Book is a project that can be done with your class. Students can color in a Flat Stanley template (included in the unit) and either have Stanley go somewhere, or imagine that he does :) It's a fun way to incorporate mapping skills and combine them with creative writing!
This cross-curricular activity combines reading, creative writing, and social studies in one high-interest activity. It's a great addition to the reading of ANY Flat Stanley book in the series.
