THE STORY OF FERDINAND

THE STORY OF FERDINAND BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
Ferdinand was not like the other bulls. Instead of fighting in bullfights, Ferdinand preferred to sit quietly and smell the flowers.
One day as Ferdinand was sitting in the meadow, he was stung by a bee. This made Ferdinand jump up, snort, and paw at the ground.
Some men who were looking for bulls to fight saw Ferdinand acting wildly, and thought he would be perfect for their bullfights in Madrid.
Everyone at the bullfight thought that Ferdinand would be the fiercest bull in the ring. But when they brought Ferdinand out, he just sat down quietly in the ring and enjoyed smelling the flowers in the ladies' hair. So they took Ferdinand back home, where he continued to do what made him happy...sit quietly under his favorite tree, smelling the flowers.
