FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS
There are MANY versions of the book Five Little Pumpkins! This little counting rhyme is a very popular Halloween read in Kindergarten and First Grade. The versions are all pretty much identical, so this little pack of activities is perfect to go with ANY version of Five Little Pumpkins that you happen to have!
FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
In each version of Five Little Pumpkins, the story begins with five little pumpkins sitting on a gate. It's night time, and it's getting late (and dark outside!)
Each page has a pumpkin saying something about the evening. It makes for a great counting book, from one to five. It also highlights sequential order and is good for retelling purposes with respect to sequencing the events of the story in order.
This Halloween story is fun, but not in a scary way for Kindergarten and First Grade students. At the end of the story, the wind blows out the lights so it's pitch dark- perfect for spooky Halloween fun!
The story ends with the five little pumpkins rolling out of sight. Where do they go?
This book activities unit for Five Little Pumpkins contains literacy book companion activities. There are many versions of this book, and this unit will go with any one you choose.
This book study unit can be used for whole class learning, during small group guided reading time, as individual student work, or as part of a book club. Copy a pack for each student and you're ready to go!
The unit is packed with Common Core aligned activities for Kindergarten and First Grade. Learning standard charts for Common Core, VA SOL, and TEKS are included in the pack.
FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS CRAFT
This craftivity allows students to speculate where the pumpkins rolled away. It's a fun writing activity and makes for a fall or Halloween bulletin board display, that showcases student learning.
This activity pack includes an interactive booklet, where students will cut and paste the pictures to go with the parts of the story. It's great to highlight the story's sequence and numerical order.
This book companion unit will save you tons of time, is no prep, and is great to leave for a sub!
