HOW TO CATCH A WITCH
How to Catch a Witch by Alice Walstead is a spooky Halloween book for kids in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. It reads a lot like the How to Catch books in the series by Adam Wallace, so fans of those books will love this Halloween themed story! Your students are going to love developing their literacy skills with this read aloud, perfect for the Halloween season.
HOW TO CATCH A WITCH BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
The characters in this story are dressed in their Halloween costumes, and are ready for a night of trick-or-treating. Little did they know that a witch had some fun Halloween plans of her own!
As the characters collect candy, they notice something strange. Ghosts and goblins and ghouls are popping up everywhere! Where did they come from?
The children look up into the sky and see a witch! She begins to play some music, and the creatures come out to dance. The children soon realize that the witch brought these creatures to town. They decide to devise a plan to catch the witch, so the creatures will go back to wherever they came from.
The children set up traps all over town. But the witch is too wise, and cannot be captured!
The witch has thrown the Halloween party of the year! When it's over, she opens a portal and she and the creatures disappear through it...saying she'll be back next Halloween!
