LABELING WORKSHEETS WRITING CENTER ACTIVITIES
My Kindergarten students LOVED to write. Parents would tell me their children would continue trying to write things when they were at home. I LOVED it! To help my students build their writing confidence, I always incorporated Labeling Worksheets as part of our Writing Center.
Some students are wary to write. They are afraid to spell words wrong, and constantly ask "How do you spell..." What I loved about using labeling worksheets is that there is a Word Bank at the bottom of the page. Students copy the words into the spaces, giving them more confidence in their writing abilities.
These labeling worksheets also have students using phonics skills, as they use the letter sounds to infer what the words are based on the pictures, arrows and spaces. They didn't seem to have any trouble with figuring out what word belonged where.
This writing center activity also helped students build their fine motor skills as they copied the letters in each word into the spaces.
The labeling worksheets cover a variety of topics and themes, and include lots of seasonal and holiday pages as well.
