THERE WAS AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED ...
Kids LOVE Lucille Colandro's book series There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed ... The books are so silly and are great for making predictions and story sequencing! These read alouds cover every theme, holiday, and season, too. Using these books in your classroom, paired with these companion activities for every book in the series, will help students practice important literacy and reading comprehension skills in Kindergarten and First Grade.
THERE WAS AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED BOOK ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS
This book companion unit includes fun activities that will help your Kindergarten and First Grade students with story elements, sequencing story events, and story retell. The colored picture cards can be used for story sequencing of events and story retell.
The colored picture cards can also be used on an anchor chart for whole class learning, where students take turns putting the pictures in story sequence order as they do a story retell. The anchor chart components are included in the pack!
There are mini book study activities for students to work on after enjoying the read aloud. These include a cover page, story elements, story sequencing / story retell, and story notes pages. These pages are in black and white, so that students can color them.
