Duck for President by Doreen Cronin is a fun book to use for President's Day in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade! Duck is tired of doing chores on the farm, and wants to do something different. Will he like it? Duck is tired of farm work, so he holds an election to try and be in charge of the farm. To Farmer Brown's dismay, Duck wins the election! Duck soon learns that being in charge of a farm is hard work. So Duck runs for state governor. And he wins the election! Duck is soon busy and tired and realizes that being a governor is hard work. So Duck runs for president. What will happen next? Does he like his new job? Who would your class vote for?

This book study unit is packed with fun activities that will help your Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students with story elements, making predictions, character traits, making text to self connections, author's purpose, main idea, making inferences, vocabulary, writing, giving opinions and advice, problem and solution, story retell, reading comprehension, and much more!
